Yet Another Posting Hiatus due to War of Succession

Long time readers will know two things about me:

1. I like to refer to Yet Another Value blog and all its spin-offs (podcast, premium side, etc.) as my “empire.”

2. I’m a big fan of fantasy books and stories.

If you’ve ever read a fantasy book, you know there is one very easy plot point in any series involving the royals: a royal family with one child makes for a clean line of succession and very little drama… but adding a second child is basically a Chekhov’s Gun for a “who will take the throne” story line and results in plenty of palace intrigue and perhaps even a war of succession.

Unfortunately, that war of succession is exactly what I must announce today. My wife and I had our first “spin-off” ~two years ago, and we had our second spin-off over the weekend.

While everyone is doing great, the inevitable war of succession that comes with any second born has been put in play much faster than I anticipated. Things have already gotten pretty devious; we’ve skipped over the border skirmishes and backroom plotting, with the newborn launching straight into psychological torture (read: lack of sleep) and biological warfare (you probably don’t need me to explain that one).

So I must put my empire on a (slight) hold while I try to sort out this succession war (and perhaps grab a little bit of sleep). Posts and podcasts will likely be much more intermittent than normal for the next few weeks as the war rages on…. I’m looking forward to getting back to a more normal schedule on the other side!

PS- the hold might really be slight. I like what I do, and I’ve got several write ups I’ve been eager to publish… so, honestly, you might hear from me again sooner than you think!
